Celebration of ‘World Pharmacists Day’ at KRIMS

The Koustuv Research Institute of Medical Sciences (KRIMS) celebrated ‘’World Pharmacists Day’’ on its campus with great enthusiasm, honouring the pivotal role pharmacists play in strengthening global healthcare systems. The ceremony brought together faculty members, guest dignitaries, and a large gathering of students to highlight the evolving responsibilities of pharmacy professionals in modern medicine.

The occasion was graced by Dr. Ranjit Mahapatra, Professor in the Department of Pharmacy at Utkal University, who attended as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mahapatra emphasized the critical link pharmacists provide between medical diagnosis and effective patient recovery.

"Pharmacists are not merely dispensers of medicine; they are the guardians of patient safety, drug discovery, and clinical ethics. As healthcare advances, the responsibility on young pharmacists to innovate and guide patient care responsibly grows exponentially," stated Dr. Mahapatra.

The event was presided over by Principal Dr. Shakti Prasad Pradhan, who remained present throughout the ceremony and encouraged students to uphold professional excellence and ethical standards in pharmaceutical practice.

"At KRIMS, our mission is to nurture skilled, compassionate pharmacy professionals who are ready to address global healthcare challenges. Celebrating World Pharmacists Day serves as a reminder of our collective duty toward community wellness and patient-centric care," noted Dr. Shakti Prasad Pradhan.

All faculty members and students actively participated in the interactive sessions and discussions, reflecting the institution's commitment to academic excellence and clinical leadership. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming KRIMS’ dedication to empowering the next generation of healthcare leaders.
